Johnson City Parks and Recreation offers youth football, cheer programs

Registration for the Johnson City Youth Football and Cheer programs begins today (Tuesday, March 26). Participants will learn sport fundamentals in addition to accountability, teamwork, discipline, and hard work. Practices will start in July with games set to begin in August.

The football and cheer programs are open to youth ages 5-11. There is a registration fee of $50 per child. Scholarships are available. Participants are not required to be part of the Johnson City School system.

Interested participants can join Parks and Recreation in person at one of these signup meetings:

  • March 26 at 6 p.m. at Fairmont Elementary School, 1405 Lester Harris Road
  • March 26 at 7:30 p.m. at Lake Ridge Elementary School, 1001 Lake Ridge Square
  • March 28 at 6 p.m. at North Side Elementary School, 1000 N. Roan St.
  • March 28 at 7:30 p.m. at South Side Elementary School, 1011 Southwest Ave.
  • April 2 at 6 p.m. at Mountain View Elementary School, 907 King Springs Road
  • April 2 at 7:30 p.m. at Cherokee Elementary School, 2100 Cherokee Road
  • April 4 at 6 p.m. at Woodland Elementary School, 2303 Indian Ridge Road
  • April 4 at 7:30 p.m. Towne Acres Elementary, 2310 Larkspur Drive
